Dance education teaches the values and skills of creativity, problem solving and risk taking. The arts help foster a creative environment for students to explore and express themselves. These lessons go far beyond the classroom, and can potentially have a meaningful impact on the students, families and the communities they represent. I believe in providing exceptional dance education that not only prepares students to succeed in school, but in life.
As an educator, I see it as my mission, and goal to teach, aid and guide students to perform at their best. I set the bar and my expectations high, and I employ a variety of strategies to help them meet, even exceed expectations. I believe all students have incredible potential, and I enjoy helping them discover and develop their talents, hone their abilities, and nurture their natural gifts in dance. I have enjoyed the pleasure of guest lecturing, and teaching master classes in various schools across the country. I love to teach, and find it profoundly rewarding. I am grateful to be a dance educator, but more importantly, I am passionate about my students and their success.
My students have gained acceptance into some of the best University Dance programs around the country. These Universities include: Purchase Dance Conservatory, Fordham University (Fordham/Ailey), University of the Arts, Towson University, Montclair State University, Howard University, and Point Park University. My students have also received scholarships, and acceptances to some of the best Summer Intensive programs in the country. Those programs include: The School of American Ballet, American Ballet Theatre (JKO School), The Rock School for Dance Education, The Ailey School, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Joffrey Ballet School, Debbie Allen Dance Academy, Earl Mosley’s Institute of the Arts, Peridance Capezio Center, Steps on Broadway, Rutgers Summer Dance Conservatory, Princeton Dance and Theater School, Carolyn Dorfman Dance, and Ballet Hispanico.
